I have not written a post in quite some time. I look back at the last post and just laugh how wrong I was with some of my predictions/analysis. Oh well, still turned out to be a great year for the Michigan Wolverines football team! Team 132 congrats on a great 2011 season! Now onto 2012. Before I write a blog on my thoughts on Team 133, I wanted to address something that has been really tiresome to read and hear.

Lately I have been reading some mailbag questions for ESPN Blog writers Adam Rittenberg and Brian Bennett. Questions and complaints coming from Michigan St. fans. Every time I read one of your whiny questions, it’s always about trying to prove to every one that Michigan St. is on the up and not coming down. How Michigan is lame and nobody should be giving them any respect. Just stop while you’re ahead, ok? Why bother? I have to give you all some credit. Because ever since Coach D’Antonio has come on board, he has turned that program around. Luckily enough, he had Rich Rod at Michigan for 3 years paving that road for him, but regardless still did a great job. Now ever since Coach Hoke has arrived to Michigan, I feel like D’Antonio is now back peddling and so are you Michigan St. fans. Have some respect for yourselves and have a little pride. You’re going to compete! You might have some bump in the roads, but don’t belittle yourselves. I’m tired of it!

We all know things are going to change with the Paul Bunyan rivalry. Michigan is back and you’re scared. It’s going to be ok. You want to know why? Because, expectations at MSU are not to win National Championships like they are at Michigan. You need to grind it out every single week. Be happy with what you have right now and where the program is going. Until Coach D’Antonio loses 4-5 straight games to Michigan.

Michigan Wolverines Football Camp Kicks Off!

Hello friends, family, colleagues, and college football fans. This is my first post and one of many posts of Michigan Football. As many of you know, I am a HUGE advocator of Michigan Wolverine football. I bleed Maize and Blue. Ever since I was 8 years old I have followed all sorts of Michigan athletics especially Michigan football. This season marks my 20th anniversary of love for the football program.

Wolverine camp just kicked off and I am hearing and seeing some great things! The defense looks hungry and they should be. Everyone is in shape and ready to play. What I am really interested to see is how our running backs develop. Vincent Smith looked great, but I don’t see him as an every down back. I’m really hoping that either Fitz Toussaint or Stephen Hopkins emerge out of the bunch. We need a one two punch of speed/agility to go along with power. I think Michael Shaw has a chance with the experience he has gained, but can he stay healthy.

Denard and Devin look awesome! Michigan fans better get stoked for this quarterback combo, because they will be a threat in the air and on the ground.

The offensive line looks solid with 4 returning starters lead by center David Molk. He is the leader as well as Mark Hugye and we need both of them to step up. I believe that the offensive line will be mean and strong which will open up holes for the backs. Taylor Lewan looks like a NFL ready player. He is a monster!

Not sure how the linebackers will play. I think Kenny Demens will be solid along with Marrell Evans. Jake Ryan looked like a stud during spring practice, but we will see come game time. I hope he gets plenty of playing time. Cam Gordon could end up being a All-Big Ten just based on his athletic ability alone. He has to work on his fundamentals.

The secondary is still iffy, but from what I am hearing Woolfolk and Floyd are going to go full force and that’s exciting to hear. We need those 2 veterans to step up. I’ve been hearing great things about safety Carvin Johnson which is good. I’m not sure who will emerge out there in the back, but we need some one to step up. I’m looking at you Kovacs.

Overall this should be a fun and exciting year with a new coaching staff. New players will emerge and it will make things interesting throughout the season. I’m not going to make a prediction because last time I did that with a new staff they went 3-9, when I thought they were going to go 9-3. Toosh. Check back for more posts!
